Founded in honor of Mrs. Alma Roberta Elliott, the Foundation was born from lived experience and a deep understanding of the emotional toll dementia places on families and caregivers. We exist to create spaces of dignity, connection, and support—so no one feels invisible on this journey.
To raise awareness about dementia and empower caregivers through advocacy, education, and compassionate community support.
A world where every individual impacted by dementia is met with dignity, understanding, and unwavering support.

Latonia Goodrich, BS, MSBC, MAT, M.Ed., MHP, is the Founder and Board Chair of the Alma Roberta Elliott Awareness for Dementia Foundation, Inc., established in honor of her mother and inspired by her family’s journey with dementia. Her work is grounded in advocacy, education, and compassionate community support for caregivers and families affected by dementia (as a firsthand witness to caregiving—and a caregiver herself—Latonia recognizes this as one of the toughest roles a person can carry and feels a calling to support those who feel alone, unseen, and isolated — I SEE YOU).
Latonia serves as a Mental Health Practitioner with Jefferson County Public Schools and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at the University of Louisville. She also serves as an Ambassador Board Member with the University of Louisville Trager Institute’s Republic Bank Foundation Optimal Aging Clinic and is a member of the inaugural launch cohort of the JCPS Community Champion Program.
Beyond her professional and advocacy roles, Latonia is a proud grandmother raising her four grandchildren, who are the love of her life. She enjoys traveling, fine dining, and spending meaningful time with family and friends.
